Great book to snuggle up and read in front of the fireplace in the winter, and the pictures are so beautiful. Well, just know that Dallas wasn't walking away without a fight. But one night Justice has a dream about other babies who were not allowed to be born. We learn that they have a polyamorous relationship. The mom, played by Wendy Phillips, planned to homeschool their two kids, both young teens, on the road since she had been a teacher. ("Why turnbolt over semi-auto for long-range accuracy work. I did not know myself that there was a so called Dustbowl Trilogy. I haven't read anything else by Doty and know him only from this memoir, but I can say that he sees dogs well, and as individuals, and records them beautifully.
