This writer grabbed me with her vivid characterizations and smart wording. Then another fateful day happens at the bike store, Christy and Ben finally meet up again. It is short enough to be read as a picture book over a period of 4 or 5 days, but it has enough depth to draw out a heart response to the situation of the boy who is the main character and to catch his excitement about hearing the story of the Bible. The author has made all the stair walks into loops (easy return to your car or public transporation the author lists what bus routes each walk is on. He seemed to hold a particular grudge against French words.
